We would like to inform you of an upcoming update from the .TZ Registry regarding the domain name life cycle, which affects all .tz domain extensions.
What’s Changing
Effective 24 September 2025 at 00:00 EAT:
The Expired period will be reduced from 30 days to 7 days.
- If a domain is not renewed within 7 days after its expiry date, it will be removed from the zone file (DNS suspension).
- Once suspended, your website, email services, and any other connected services will stop working until the domain is renewed.
What This Means for You
To avoid service disruption, we strongly recommend renewing your .tz domain before the expiry date.
Please note that the grace period after expiry is now significantly shorter — only 7 days.
Recommended Actions
- Confirm that your contact email address and phone number in the client portal are up to date to ensure you receive renewal reminders.
- Make sure you have sufficient account balance or a valid payment method for timely renewal.
- If your domain has already expired, renew it immediately to prevent DNS suspension after the 7-day period.
